MEGADETH ANNOUNCES TOUR DATES IN SOUTH AMERICA
FOUNDING BASSIST DAVID ELLEFSON RETURNS TO MEGADETH LINE-UP
“RUST IN PEACE” 20TH ANNIVERSARY PERFORMANCES CONTINUE BY OVERWHELMING DEMAND

New York, NY: The mighty Megadeth will return to Mexico, Central and South America for a month-long jaunt in April and May, 2010 that will find the thrash titans crisscrossing the continent in an ear and head-crushing spectacular.

Megadeth’s latest album, Endgame, released in September 2009 and received some of the highest critical accolades of the band’s career. Megadeth was nominated for another Grammy – the eighth nomination of their storied career- for “Head Crusher.” Megadeth also enjoyed heaps of praise in the press, from New York to Revolver to VH1’s “That Metal Show” to PopMatters. With Endgame, Megadeth have once again ascended to the top of the metal world.

Megadeth’s founder and frontman Dave Mustaine recently announced the return of original bassist David Ellefson, who was in Megadeth from 1983 to 2002, to the iconic multi-platinum group. The reunion was appropriately timed for Megadeth’s historic Rust In Peace 20th anniversary North American tour which just concluded in Hollywood, California. At these incredibly special shows, Megadeth played their landmark, genre-defining 1990 album Rust In Peacein its entirety, in addition to other Megadeth favorites, many of which will be part of the South American show. In fact, the Rust In Peace segment of the show was such a success, that Dave Mustaine has decided to include it in the upcoming shows.  Of Ellefson’s return, Dave Mustaine said "This shows the power of brotherly love and forgiveness. “David Ellefson belongs in Megadeth. Next we are going to show you the power of getting your asses kicked...HARD!" David Ellefson concurred: "This is a huge moment for all of us, band and fans alike. It is a great celebration of the music from one of the biggest landmark albums of our career."

Ellefson will continue with Mustaine and Megadeth band members Shawn Drover (drums) and Chris Broderick (guitar) on tour in April and May, then making their way to Europe, headinling shows and appearing on many of the mega-festivals, then back to North America, as the amazing year-long tour continues…..
