AFTERSHOCK FESTIVAL BRINGS HEAVY-METAL HEAVYWEIGHTS TO SACRAMENTO

Brittany Torrez of The Sacramento Bee has published the following article. "More than 30 heavy metal and rock bands — including Korn, Megadeth and Shinedown — are headed to Sacramento’s Discovery Park this weekend for Aftershock, a festival full of rocking, moshing and guitar-shredding."

The Bee recently spoke by phone with Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine, who said he looks forward to playing Sacramento, a town that clearly loves some head banging.

“I’ve had some really great concerts ... in Sacramento before. I think that California’s got a very metal imprint on it,” said Mustaine, 51, a California native.

The thrash-metal icon has recorded 14 studio albums with Megadeth and said he plans to make more.

“I think the best years are still ahead of us,” he said. “There’s still a metal scene out there.”
