May 29, 2010 - MEGADETH TO KICK OFF EUROPEAN TOUR AT ROCK IN RIO FESTIVAL
Megadeth, Motörhead, and Rammstein are among the confirmed bands to perform on Sunday, May 30 for Portugal's Rock In Rio festival at Bela Vista in Lisbon. Megadeth will kick off its 30-date European summer tour at the festival on Sunday night taking the stage at 10:00 PM. The month-and-a-half long trek which includes the 7 'Big Four' shows (Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax) in June will wrap up in Haapsalu, Estonia on July 16. I considered him an incredible songwriter, inventive bassist but more importantly a kind and warm friend. As a fellow musician, I was excited that he would be playing in HAIL! this coming month as I knew it would be a fun experience for him. May 1, 2010 - MEGADETH FORCED TO CANCEL SHOW IN ECUADOR
Due to logistical problems with getting Megadeth’s gear into Ecuador, the band has been forced to postpone the scheduled show on Tuesday, May 4 in Quito. Megadeth is greatly saddened that they won’t be able to perform to the fans of Ecuador at this time but they will make this show up on the next trip to South America. Dave Mustaine will be making a statement after the tour. Ticket holders can get a refund at place of purchase.

David Ellefson has issued the following update: "Another sold out show in Santiago, Chile last night to a crowd of 14,000 people at the MoviStar Arena. It was smokey inside and the mile-high altitude made for some thin air but you’d never know it by the enthusiasm of the audience. I’d say no less than 10 national flags were thrown to us onstage and Dave & Chris kept hanging them on the amplifier backdrop all night, which made for a colorful and well decorated stage of Chilean national spirit."  MORE

I had gotten word through Shawn Drover and Dave’s (Mustaine) Tech. They had contacted me about potentially about jumpin’ up and doin’ a jam with Dave at NAMM. Shauna O'Donnell for Muen Magazine conducted an interview with David Ellefson on April 12. DE: "I’m actually at my house in Scottsdale, Arizona today. We finished up the North American 20th Anniversary Rust in Peace Tour in Hollywood. Our last show was on March 31st, so I’ve had about ten days just to get home, chill and get settled in a little bit. We are actually leaving again; we have a show coming up in Mexico City that will be the start of the South America and Central America tour that we are going to be doing for the next month."
