September 29, 2008 - "MEGADETH GUITARIST FINDS A NEW CRUNCH WITH ELEVEN"
Digidesign.com has posted the following article on Dave Mustaine using the "revolutionary guitar amp plug-in" Eleven: “When I fired Eleven up for the first time, I sat down on the couch in the studio and just closed my eyes, and I really felt like I had an amp rig in front of me,” Mustaine says. “It’s not just the sound, because a lot of amp emulation programs can create a good distortion or overdrive or whatever. But Eleven goes even farther — it’s the only emulation program I’ve tried that can actually get the sound of a speaker cone breakup, for example, and that does a lot for the whole realism factor.” MORE

Record producer/engineer, Andy Sneap arrived last night to meet up with Dave Mustaine and the crew at the new studio near San Diego, CA. The studio is being custom built to record the next Megadeth album and more. Over the next few days Andy will be tweaking and mixing the new Megadeth live DVD which was recorded in San Diego during the last tour, and will soon be seen on HDNet TV. Rock Band's extensively-stocked catalogue of downloadable music will see the addition of several more full-length albums this year, including Megadeth's "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?". Harmonix is planning to release six full albums by the end of the year for the video game franchise. Dave Mustaine's silver ESP DV8 Signature guitar that Dave used on the 'Blackmail The Universe' Tour is now up for auction at Megadeth's official eBay store! In 2003, Dave Mustaine unveiled his new ESP DV8 and DV8-R signature guitars at the Winter NAMM convention in Anaheim, California. This guitar is very rare as it is no longer in production and is one of very few DV8 guitars left in Dave's personal collection. Check it out HERE
