Those dates are supposed to be 60 minutes long for both us and Slayer, so we're gonna have about 12 songs we're gonna be playing. We've cut back a lot of the songs that we've been playing over the years down to just the ones that are probably a little bit more of the fan favorites and not the stuff that's been on the radio. "ENDGAME" TO BE TITLE OF MEGADETH'S TWELFTH STUDIO ALBUM

New York, NY: Heavy metal institution Megadeth have announced ENDGAMEas the title of their twelfth studio album. The album is expected to be released in September through Roadrunner Records. It was recorded at the band’s self-built brand new studio, Vic’s Garage, located near San Diego and named after the legendary and iconic Vic Rattlehead character.

ENDGAME is being produced by Andy Sneap and Dave Mustaine, who also manned the boards for 2007’s United Abominations. Some track titles include “Headcrusher,” “1,320’,” “How the Story Ends” and “This Day We Fight!”

ENDGAME boasts the technicality, ferocity and snarl that’s synonymous with Megadeth and their leader, Dave Mustaine. It’s a violent masterwork that represents Mustaine’s best work in nearly two decades. In a musical world dominated by bands that make generic blanket statements, ENDGAME finds Mustaine, once again, making informed and substantial lyrical declarations about the state of the world we live in.

Mustaine himself commented on ENDGAME, saying, “Thematically, I’ve never been known to be a silent bystander in a world that needs our participation. As more is revealed about our former President’s legacy, a little-known yet staggeringly frightening document, which was signed into law, named ‘ENDGAME,’ has been uncovered. The album ‘ENDGAME’ is the most energetic music offering I have penned in over a decade and is far more believable than knowing someone signed ‘ENDGAME’ -the document- into law. The album is also the perfect ‘ass- kicking’ music to listen to once you are done reading the aforementioned document!”

In short, it’s the Megadeth record fans of classics like So Far…So Good…So What? and Rust in Peace have been chomping at the bit for.

“This new album is my proudest moment since the famous (or infamous) Rust in Peace album,” Mustaine also said. “With this album I am also very excited to be introducing my new lead guitarist Chris Broderick to the world. I have always felt lucky to have had top shredders in that position but after touring with Chris in support of my last album, I couldn’t wait to get into the studio and see what he could do.”

Megadeth’s current lineup consists of Mustaine, Broderick, bassist James LoMenzo and drummer Shawn Drover.

Earlier this year, Mustaine was the recipient of the “Golden God Award” at the first ever Golden Gods Awards, presented by Revolver.

Monday, April 27, 2009 -- Talk about a mind-blowing line-up. Slayer and Megadeth - two of the bands that defined the thrash/metal genre - will perform together for the first time in more than 15 years when they co-headline four shows in Canada in late June. The tour, dubbed "Canadian Carnage," will also feature Machine Head and Suicide Silence, and will see Megadeth and Slayer each closing two of the four shows. Tickets will go on sale Saturday, May 2, and will be available at all Ticketmaster outlets and at Ticketmaster online.

Few bands come close to matching the intensity that Slayer brings to its live shows, having been named "Best Live Band" by numerous media outlets including Revolver, SPIN, and Metal Hammer. Slayer - guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman, vocalist/bassist Tom Araya and drummer Dave Lombardo - is currently in Los Angeles recording its as yet untitled tenth studio album with Greg Fidelman producing and Rick Rubin executive producing. Fans were given an early taste of the brutal new Slayer material when "Psychopathy Red," a song inspired by the heinous Russian serial killer Andrei Chikatilo, who confessed to savagely murdering 56 children, was recorded last October and then leaked online. Attendees of "Canadian Carnage" will be treated to Slayer performing "Psychopathy Red" live on stage. Plans are to release the new album in July, in tandem with the Mayhem Festival tour Slayer is co-headlining with Marilyn Manson.

With over 20 million albums sold worldwide, the icon that is Megadeth culminated earlier this month, with Dave Mustaine’s acceptance of the highly coveted “Golden God” accolade and the band's headline performance at the inaugural Revolver Golden Gods Awards in Los Angeles. Megadeth – lead guitarist/lead vocalist Dave Mustaine, lead and rhythm guitarist Chris Broderick, bassist James Lomenzo and drummer Shawn Drover – is currently recording their 12th studio album in Los Angeles with Andy Sneap. The disc is scheduled for release later this summer to coincide with a full scale world tour. Known for their ferocious live show, Megadeth will once again bring this intensity to their loyal throng of Canadian followers.

Bay Area titans Machine Head add to the carnage as main support. Machine Head - vocalist/guitarist Robb Flynn, guitarist Phil Demmel, bassist/backing vocalist Adam Duce and drummer Dave McClain - are currently touring in support of their critically-acclaimed and Grammy nominated The Blackening. Since its release, the band has been awarded both Best Album at the Metal Hammer Awards and Album of the Year at Kerrang's annual ceremony that same year. And with a fan base so rabid, they've actually been banned from certain U.S. venues, Machine Head will bring with them the relentless stage show they are renowned for.

There is little doubt in anyone's mind that Suicide Silence is one of the frontrunners of the new wave of American metal, a statement further validated as the group won the "Best New Talent" award at the inaugural Revolver Golden Gods Awards, held at Club Nokia in Los Angeles on April 7. The group was also hailed as the event's breakthrough artist by the L.A. Times, but make no mistake that this extreme juggernaut is not resting on its laurels and is about to take things up a notch with their highly-anticipated sophomore release, No Time to Bleed, which was produced by acclaimed producer Machine (Lamb of God) and set for a June 30 release.

Megadeth has been confirmed to headline the star-studded "Scars To Freedom" concert for wounded troops at the Palm Springs Air Museum in Palm Springs, California on Saturday, March 28.

5,000 troops and vets will be in attendance, and the concert will simulcast to 500,000 more troops around the globe. Legendary musician Mick Fleetwood and a list of others including First Lady Michelle Obama will be participating in the event.

It’s very hard to put into words my feelings about M&G with Megadeth but I try it. First of all a little additional info. I was 15 years old when I listened to my very first metal album in my life and it was Countdown to Extinction. I was traveling at a train with friends of mine and one of his walkman I picked up and I started to listen it. Some minutes later I asked my friend. „What’s this music?” And he answered: „It’s Megadeth!” So this is the beginning of my story about Megadeth. The band which has determined my musical culture from my teenager years up to now, I mean Megadeth is the band why I started to listen heavy music.

The main reason why I joined to MegaFanClub in 2005 was the opportunity to meet one day with the band and of course leader of the band Mr. Dave Mustaine whose music and personality always influenced on me. Not speaking about those great things in the fan club packages that I get year by year.

So last week I won a M&G pass to Milan, Italy and I didn’t want to believe to my eyes when I checked my e-mail box and found the letter landed by the subject „ Milan Pass Winner!”

In the morning of 10th of March in 2009. (date of the concert) I sat into my car at 4:30 am and started to go to Milan, Italy from Budapest, Hungary. This is a 1100 km (approx. 687 miles) distance (through Austria in The Alps mountain) that I could do during 10 hours of car driving. I arrived in Milan a bit tired but it didn’t’ care. I collected the envelope with M&G pass and instructions where to meet. The more time of the meeting got closer the better I felt something special is going to happen within minutes. And of course everybody (who has won M&G pass) was anxious. And then Tracey Wiedeman (who is a very kind woman) Megadeth tour manager went out to notify the band that everything is ready to start M&G. A few minutes later members of Megadeth started to walk out from a corridor. Firstly James, Shawn and than Dave, Chris. It was incredible to see them together so close to me! They were friendly and responsive so they started to sign and took common photos. I can’t tell you why but I felt all the time that Dave Mustaine has a 100% rock star aura An awesome man!!!! We talked a short with each other and I gave a little present (T-shirt with ’Budapest’ text on it with a skull) to him that he thanked so much proving in my eyes again that he is not just a great person but a gentleman too.

And also thank you everybody from Mr. McRobb (at MegaFanClub) to the band who helped make this M&G opportunity possible to me. That evening was and will be an unforgettable day in my life forever!!! And of course I encourage everybody who likes music of Megadeth to become member of this fantastic MegaFanClub for the same feelings that I’ve been through with the band that one night! It’s worth!

MEGAFANCLUB MEMBER SHARES DUBLIN MEET 'N GREET EXPERIENCE

MegaFanClub member, Kait Kirwan of Dublin, Ireland was one of the several MFC winners of a meet 'n greet pass to meet Megadeth in Dublin on Tuesday (Feb 10). Kait sent in a review of her experience at the first club meet 'n greet on the tour:

I will admit that I'm rather prone to dramatics, but I outdid myself when the e-mail arrived telling me I'd won Meet and Greet with Megadeth in Dublin. I screamed so loud the neighbours rushed over to see if I was alright! The few days leading up to the show were nerve-wracking; I have a propensity to say stupid things at stupid times, so ended up running through various scenarios in my head "Say this, don't say that," but when the day itself arrived I surprised myself by being calm.

I had my instructions as to where to pick up the pass on the day, and once I had done so the whole process was surprisingly easy. Expecting to be left waiting for hours on end, we were actually brought straight through to a room off the main auditorium and were then told the band would arrive soon. Everyone lined up in a row and chatted nervously, but once the band walked in we were put at our ease. They all arrived together, with Chris walking down the line first, shaking everyone’s hands and saying "Hi, I'm Chris." I barely managed to stop myself saying "I know!" James and Shawn chatted with everyone for a while, and I had them all sign my United Abominations album booklet, but I have to admit I was so afraid of saying something idiotic I barely even made eye contact.

Dave was last to move down the line, and I was pretty surprised by how tall he was in person. He was perfectly willing to talk to each person for however long they had something to say, and so when he got to me I figured that I might as well say something! Last February at a gig in Oslo, Norway, Dave had taken my camera from me mid-show and taken photos of himself and the crowd with it, so I reminded him of that and thanked him, because the crowd had been brutal, and being the only girl anywhere near the front of the stage, I had been pushed around in an effort to rid of me! By Dave taking my camera, I'd got some respect and been left alone afterwards.

I ended up having my photo taken with Dave and Chris, which was pretty cool! While one of the girls who worked at the venue took our photo, Dave said to me out of the corner of his mouth "She looks like she's wearing a tablecloth!" Their uniforms are pretty awful, but at first I thought he was saying something about me – so foot in mouth as usual - I said "uh... thanks." "No I was talking about her not you!" Luckily I semi-rescued myself by telling him I'd realised that as soon as I'd replied. I got a smile from Dave anyway when I thanked him for the photo, so hopefully I redeemed myself somewhat!

As suddenly as the band had arrived, they were gone. Myself and one of the guys there ended up being interviewed for the club, and it was only as I left the meet and greet room that I realised the photo that had been taken with Dave and Chris was unbelievably blurry and out-of-focus. Slightly disappointing, but having said that, I still have a signed album cover and a great memory of the whole experience that I certainly won't forget any time soon!

'LINE 6' HALF STACK USED BY DAVE MUSTAINE ON AUCTION

On auction at the Megadeth eBay Store is a Line 6 half stack used by Dave Mustaine. The amp is a model designed and made specifically for Dave, but was not mass produced. The Mustaine amp has the same power amp section as the HD147, a two DSP chips, a main processor, and 4 amp models (a Line 6 clean, a Dave signature heavy tone, a modified vision of the Dave signature heavy tone, and a Plexi tone). The cabinet is a 4 x 12 including a custom grill and metal handles. This item was used extensively by Dave during the recording of "The System has Failed" and the subsequent tour. Dave Mustaine has issued the following statement about the passing of former Megadeth co-manager, Bud Prager:

"I will always remember where I was when I was told that Bud had passed away. I was in my house getting ready to go to the studio to record my new record. And as recently as this last month, I replayed something Bud had said about me and my songwriting style.

Bud also was one of the first, and more accurately, one of the very few persons in the music business that showed any respect to my wife Pam, who Bud was very close to, and to me as a person, by way of mentoring and really taking a legitimate interest in me.

One incident I remember was getting "talked to" by Bud about my sniffly nose, and what it makes people "think." I just had this exact talk with my own son.

I will always remember our times together while Bud managed Megadeth as some of our most successful ever!; certainly the most successful period at radio or MTV. I extend my condolences to his lovely wife Gloria, and son Evan.

The world has just lost one of the heroes of
the music industry.

I have had one of the best years in my career. Although some people may disagree, and that’s ok, but I was there, and I can attest to the fact the Megadeth currently has its best line-up, best management and crew, and I believe we are amidst one of our best sessions we have ever made.
My children are up now, and I get to celebrate their lives right now, I am prouder as each day goes by with. Me, and I need to jam now so I can make them some Christmas food.

DAVE MUSTAINE TALKS ABOUT SONGWRITING PROCESS

Dave Mustaine recently spoke to Revolver magazine about what fans can expect from the upcoming CD, which he said will contain "stuff that's melodic like nobody's business, stuff that's heavier than hell, and stuff that's a combination of both. DM: "The way I write, I'll play a riff and tape it and save it. And if I don't use it now, I'll use it later. The very first song I ever wrote, "Rust In Peace... Polaris", didn't appear on anything until the fourth Megadeth record. Right now, there are about 20 songs that are in the making, and there's another good 25-to-30 hours worth of guitar riffs on tape." FORMER MEGADETH CO-MANAGER DIES OF ESOPHAGEAL CANCER

Management, Inc. - who co-managed Megadeth from 1995 to 2001, helping them to their first major commercial radio success and co-writing a number of songs - lost his year-plus long battle with esophageal cancer at his home in Montauk, N.Y. on December 22. Dave Mustaine was reached today and will be commenting on Bud's passing tomorrow.
