DAVE MUSTAINE PERFORMS WITH METALLICA AT FINAL ANNIVERSARY SHOW

History was made last night (Saturday, December 10) when Dave Mustaine rejoined Metallica on stage for the first time in almost three decades to perform with the band. Dave played five songs with Metallica; "Hit The Lights","Metal Militia", "Phantom Lord", "Jump In the Fire", and "Seek And Destroy". Former Metallica members Jason Newsted, Lloyd Grant, Ron McGovney, Hugh Tanner, along with the band's longtime producer Bob Rock, as well as Black Sabbath legends Ozzy Osbourne and Geezer Butler also joined Metallica on stage last night for the fourth and final intimate show at the Fillmore in San Francisco as part of the week-long celebration of its 30th anniversary as a band for fan club members only.

Metallica's first full lineup — featuring James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Dave Mustaine and Ron McGovney — played its first gig on March 14, 1982 at Radio City in Anaheim, California.

MEGADETH--who wrap a tour of South America tonight (12/1) in Costa Rica--have received their tenth Grammy nomination for their latest effort. The group--singer/guitarist DAVE MUSTAINE, drummer SHAWN DROVER, guitarist CHRIS BRODERICK and bassist DAVID ELLEFSON--got a "Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Performance" nomination for their new single "Public Enemy No. 1" off their latest album TH1RT3EN (Roadrunner Records). The "Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Performance" category is, eerily, category #13.

Of the nomination, MEGADETH founder DAVE MUSTAINE says, "In such uncertain times, it's just an honor to be recognized by our peers, and anything above that is remarkable." The band's 13th album, the appropriately titled TH1RT3EN, was released November 1 and debuted #11 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and #1 on the Billboard Hard Rock chart. The album also landed on international charts including Top 10 placements in Argentina, Finland, Korea and Japan.

While promoting the critically praised TH1RT3EN, MUSTAINE stopped by the VH1 Classic's studios to chat with That Metal Show. David Ellefson and Shawn Drover check in from the set of Megadeth's new video shoot for "Public Enemy No 1", in Valencia, Santa Clarita, California. The band shot the video yesterday (Saturday, September 17) at a movie set where old Westerns are filmed. Ellefson says in the following behind-the-scenes video clip, "We have never shot a video like this before, there’s actually animals in the movie and that's all we can say".
